Per new allegations from a informant, the convicted associate of Jeffrey Epstein, currently serving a two-decade sentence for trafficking offenses, is reportedly preparing a clemency request for consideration by the Trump administration.

Preferential Handling Claimed at Correctional Facility

Congressional Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a whistleblower provided information indicating Maxwell is preparing the clemency petition. They also stated she has been receiving special treatment at the minimum-security facility in the Lone Star State.

Representative Jamie Raskin, the ranking member on the committee, declared in a official statement that the facility's chief was “helping” the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to support her bid for clemency.

The exact content of the “commutation application” remain unclear, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

Raskin states that, per the insider, the prisoner has been given specially prepared food that are hand-delivered to her cell, and the warden has “personally arranged” exclusive visits for Maxwell and her visitors.

These meetings reportedly involve a “special cordoned-off area” for visitors and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Those visiting Maxwell were also allowed to carry electronic devices, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the security risk and chance of unmonitored communications.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, Maxwell was given specific instructions about instructing her associates to call and how personnel would relay the call to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The source also allegedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she reportedly employed the official as her private aide.

The news release states that Maxwell’s correspondents would send files directly to the supervisor, who would hand them over to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and provide them back to the warden to digitize and send to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Reported

Other privileges allegedly granted to her include time to “play with” a service dog puppy – a perk typically prohibited – as well as exclusive nighttime use to the prison exercise area.

Her legal counsel has not yet replied to a request for comment regarding the insider's allegations.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on potential clemency requests.

“Per the President's remarks, granting clemency to Ghislaine Maxwell is not something he has thought about,” the spokesperson noted.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, reports surfaced that she told close associates in electronic messages that she was “much happier” at the new prison than her former location.

In August, Maxwell was transferred from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in the state, where most detainees are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which experts described as “unprecedented”, occurred just days after she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, the official, who also previously served as the President's private attorney.

That interview came as the administration was facing mounting pressure to disclose additional files related to the Epstein investigation and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the disgraced financier and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

In the news release, Raskin also revealed that he had sent a letter to Trump, requesting explanations about the insider's claims, and urged the chief executive to deny Maxwell’s commutation request.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this convicted and unrepentant criminal,” the representative stated in the document. “Your Administration should not be providing her with room service, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials attending to her requests, or with any preferential handling or facility benefit at all.”

The congressman asked that the official appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also posed three questions to the President.

Raskin asked whether he had discussed a potential commutation for Maxwell with the official or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to provide her with the transfer or special conditions in prison, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, family or representatives have made any commitments to Trump or his attorneys.

The representative requested for a response to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the nation's highest court rejected an petition from Maxwell on her sex-trafficking conviction.
